Donna DeDionisio

Screenwriter/Playwright/Director/Scripts

Welcome -- Glad You Stopped By!

                                     www.DonnaDeDionisio.webs.com

This website was designed for the purpose of giving an overview of           the screenplays and stage plays I've written.   It also provides loglines            and a short synopsis of each project I've done.

I've loved writing stories and creating characters since I watched the movie, "An Affair to Remember," when I was in high school.  I loved that movie!  And that movie set the scene for my dreams of becoming a writer.

However, I really didn't get into writing until the early 1990's, but better late than never, right?  It was completely by accident,  too!  But I'm glad it worked out the way it did -- because I wouldn't want it any  other way!

Screenwriting can be quite a challenge!  Formats, flashbacks, intercuts, don't use caps in dialogue, how do I write great loglines, how should I write great dialogue, Music Over, O.S., V.O., and the terribly confusing Montage!  And that's just to mention a few!

Screenwriting is a desire -- that burns deep!  Whether that desire stems from want of money, fame, satisfaction, recognition, or just making your dream come true -- keep at it, don't quit, never give up!  Determination and perseverance will get you somewhere, but giving up, quiting -- won't get you anywhere.  So stay the course, set your sights on the real thing, and possibly one day -- your dreams will take you where you want to go!

I'm a Playwright/Director with 5 scripts successfully produced.  I was also Managing Director, playwright, and director of a touring theatre troupe -- that took shows on the road.  It was the best time of my life and I made some  wonderful friends along the way!  I loved the shows, the audiences, the rehearsals, and all the laughter!  Thanks, my friends, for making me smile!

Over the past few years, my focus has been on screenwriting.  Classes, classes, and more classes!  And I've learned that playwriting is nothing like screenwriting!  But even though the challenge is great, I'll keep at it, I will not quit -- because my dream is to become a successful screenwriter and director of quality films.
